Highways Supervisor

DDC Engineering Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Highways Supervisor to join our team.

You will be at the heart of a team of international experts who are all dedicated to growing and sharing their expertise and working on projects to transform the way drainage is approached.

 As the Site Supervisor you will plan, and co-ordinate works and be the main contact point for the client. You will take responsibility for the safety, quality and environmental elements of their work sites. Therefore, you will need to work as part of a team and express excellent communication skills.

Who we are looking for:

  • Effective planning, programming & delivery of programme of works
  • Professional attitude and ability to operate without supervision
  • Capable of teaching and developing operatives
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Undertake safety site inspections and submit associated paperwork
  • Effectively manage site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved
  • Work collaboratively with DDC’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across the contract
  • Ensure training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team
  • Collaborate with all supply-chain to improve Health and Safety Standards & Best practice
  • Undertake investigations
  • Ensure the CDM regulations 2015 principle contractor responsibilities are being adhered too across all works
  • Ensure environmental processes and best practice across the contract
  • Ensure all supply-chain RAMS are reviewed and signed off prior to any working instruction
  • Ensure traffic management compliance
  • Ensure all group & contract Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teams, signed off and loaded to SharePoint
  • Promote Near miss reporting
  • Collaborate, promote and develop Health, Safety and wellbeing innovation

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience in a similar role in the Highways / Civil industry
  • CSCS Supervisor Card essential
  • SSSTS or SMSTS essential
  • Good understanding of reading design plans / drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislations
  • First Aid training
  • UK Driving licence
