We are very proud of this remarkable achievement which reinforces DDC as an innovative leader of the highways drainage sector and an established brand in the engineering market. We thrive on actively implementing best practices and keeping up-to-date with cutting-edge technology and this helps us to constantly develop our business.

What is BIM Level 2?

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a smart model-based process that gives our engineers the best tools and insights to produce quality outputs and to deliver first-class solutions. As stated on BSI group website (https://www.bsigroup.com/en-GB/, 2018), BIM “is the management of information through the whole life cycle of a built asset, from initial design all the way through to construction, maintaining and finally de-commissioning, through the use of digital modelling”.

The Benefits of BIM Level 2

BIM Level 2 gives DDC competitive advantage as we are the first Tier 2 consultancy in the UK to become approved for this prestigious certification. The Building Information Modelling helps our engineers to increase the speed of delivery as they manage to develop the projects’ documentation in a more structured and coordinated way. It also improves safety and quality as it maximises the management of information. Its collaborative methodology helps the DDC team to meet the cost and time needs of our clients, offering more productive and profitable services.

Lisa Whitbrook, Managing Director of DDC Engineering Solutions declared: “We’ve been proactively seeking to always keep up to date with all Highways England standards. Our engineers have a thorough understanding of BIM Level 2 and have been fully adhered to BIM processes for a while, this recognition is a statement of DDC’s expertise and enhances the quality solutions that we deliver to our clients.”
